Interface Changes for 0.3.0.2
The next update, to be released in a few days, will bring some changes to interface.Although I do not like it very much, doors will now behave the »bump-to-open« way, i.e. you don't need to press Enter if you want to open a door.On the other hand, picking up items will be possible by using Enter, too. So e.g. you loot a chest with Enter and pick up the found item with Enter, too, without the need for long movements to the special get-key (which will remain as alternate option). Most important change, however, is the support of mouse in LambdaRogue. If mouse is activated in lambdarogue.cfg, most actions can be done using the mouse. On the main screen, left click moves in one of eight directions (the window therefore is unvisibly splitted in eight areas which correspond to the possible movement directions). This is done the same way as
KMoria for the PalmOS does.Right click performs all actions which can also be done by using the Enter key.Inventory and traders work now the other way around than before. Instead of selecting an action and passing the item as argument (e.g. »get« »2« if you want to buy an item on position 2) you first have to click on the desired item and then select the action in a pop-up-menu which is shown after item selection. With the mouse support, the whole game speed may increase. It then reminds somehow of an action-RPG. However, as one of my goals is to simplify the interface as strong as possible (and to eliminate the need for learning different keys for different actions), the mouse support is a step in this direction.
