Enhanced Equipment
In the past I sometimes wrote about my goal to enhance LambdaRogue's equipment system. Until LR 1.4, you have only the following equipment types:
- weapon
- armour
- hat
- ring (left hand)
- ring (right hand)
Additionally, lanterns and candles counted as rings, which forced you to either decide to wear a ring or to hold a candle -- so, there were only hand-related items, regardless if this made sense.Somehow by accident I did the first steps of equipment enhancement today. LambdaRogue 1.5 will have the following categories:
- weapon (left hand)
- shield or extras like candles (right hand)
- armour
- hat
- shoes/boots
- ring (left ring finger)
- ring (right ring finger)
Shields and shoes/boots are new. Weapons are usually wielded in the left hand, shields and items like candles and lanterns in the right hand.Some of the bigger weapons now also require to be wielded be both hands, making it impossible to carry a shield.I know, this is nothing new, nothing special, but something that was really missing in LambdaRogue.

Left-handedness
So, every character is going to be left-handed?
Is this some sort of politically-correct thing? :P

Ehm .... no. I think I confused the directions left and right, sometimes this happens to me ... Intentionally I wanted them to wield weapons with the right hand.

I will call it "weapon hand" and "shield hand" now, to avoid any further confusion.
